Report: Reason behind Kylian Mbappe delaying Real Madrid announcement

Earlier this year, in February, Kylian Mbappe delivered the long-awaited news that Real Madrid fans had been desperately anticipating for years

In a decisive move, he informed PSG of his departure as a free agent at the end of the season, thereby clearing the path for Real Madrid to realise their long-held aspiration of welcoming him into their ranks.

However, since the news broke, Mbappe has remained tight-lipped about his next destination, even though reports suggest that he has already signed for Real Madrid.

In fact, most recently in a press conference with the France National Team, he said: “I have nothing to announce. The day I have something to say, I will say it, but until then there is nothing to say,”

The reason Mbappe has not disclosed his future intentions

Now, Jerome Rothen, former PSG player and RMC Sport commentator, has shed light on the suspense of Mbappe’s future via SPORT.

Declaring the Frenchman’s transfer to Real Madrid is imminent, he said: “Mbappe is going to sign for Real Madrid. I’m not telling anyone anything new.”

Jerome Rothen stated he would make the announcement, “When PSG is eliminated from the Champions League or if Real Madrid is eliminated against Manchester City (in the quarterfinals) or in the semifinals.”

“As long as there is the possibility of seeing PSG-Real Madrid, he will not do it. He will not announce anything,” he added.

With no intention of creating unnecessary drama and becoming the centre of attention in the event both sides lock horns, Mbappe will only open up when the timing is right.

And that would be either after PSG’s elimination from the Champions League or if Real Madrid faces a similar fate against Manchester City in the quarterfinals or the semifinals.
