Tommy Fury called out by boxing legend’s brother for future ‘legacy fight’

Tommy Fury has not received a shortage of challenges from high-profile names.

The British superstar has already made his name in the boxing world, but largely in the influencer space outpointing both Jake Paul and KSI in his last two high-profile fights.

Cason has won his first eleven professional fights

Fury is often compared to his brother Tyson Fury, who is currently the WBC heavyweight champion of the world, and ‘TNT’ is hoping to leave a similarly fruitful legacy in the sport.

Naturally, the rising star is looking for big names to compete against, given the prospect of lucrative purses despite being at the early stages of his career.

And he has now received a challenge from Muhsin Cason, brother of Hasim Rahman, who is hopeful that the pair will meet in a big event at the pinnacle of their careers.

“I think it would be good for television, it would be good for social and it would be good for boxing,” Cason suggested.

“Both of our brothers are [heavyweight] world champions. We are both, per se, trying to get to a world championship. I think it would be a legacy fight.

“You are going to get paid more for being a personality than being a professional boxer. So what I did was – I said I am going to be both.

“I am going to have the skills [of a professional boxer], but I am going to have the personality to be on the platforms like Jake Paul’s cards and be on influencer cards as well because I know where the money is.”

When asked about Fury’s current trajectory, Cason claims he was perplexed by his recent outings.

“I just think he has a lot of money, he talks this talk like he is a real boxer, but he has only faced [limited competition].

“He has never faced a real boxer like that, and I think if he got in there with me, Viddal Riley, someone like that he’d get [hurt], and I definitely think he has used his brother’s [Tyson Fury] platform and likability in order to get [his big fights].”

“To call yourself a real boxer, and the next world champion – and to never fight an actual prospect,”

“You have yet to even challenge yourself against a real fighter.”

Cason has won his first eleven professional fights without defeat, and is set to next face DeShon Webster on April 27 in Philadelphia.

It would likely be a scintillating fight to make given the pair are both currently competing at cruiserweight.

Fury is currently out of action after having surgery on his hand, and has yet to pencil in his return date.

Reports indicated he was in preliminary talks to face legend Roy Jones Jr, but that is now firmly off the table.
