The $9 million Boston-area home of Celtics star Al Horford is up for sale.

Al Horford is leaving his Massachusetts estate after nearly three years of ownership. Nestled in the suburban village of Brookline, just minutes from downtown Boston, this more than acre property is back on the market for less than $9 million. The traditional Colonial-inspired home was purchased by the five-time NBA All-Star and highest-paid Latin American for $7.5 million in the fall of 2021, not long after it complete. This player is currently playing for the Boston Celtics in the Eastern Conference Finals.

The three-story building, which is fully gated and set behind wrought iron gates, has a large motor court in front and an attached three-car garage on either side. Once inside, the more than 9,300 square feet of living space — furnished by PBF Homes and featuring caramel hardwood floors, high ceilings and designer lighting throughout — is divided into six bedrooms and eight bathroom.

Through glass doors, one is welcomed into a spacious entrance hall with tiled floors, a staircase with elegant glass railings, and wide Pella windows.

The dining room is on one side and the living room is on the other. Nestled at the back of the home is a sophisticated kitchen complete with streamlined white cabinets, a walk-in pantry, a dining island that can seat four, and Miele, Wolf and Sub-Zero appliances high-class. A second-level suite with a private balcony and a family room with a stylish linear fireplace built into a beautiful accent wall are among the main level’s other highlights. Adjacent to the breakfast nook is an air-conditioned wine cabinet.

There’s also a sumptuous master sanctuary upstairs with double vanities, freestanding soaking tub, two-person glass-enclosed shower, walk-in closet, dressing room and sitting area heated by a fireplace. This floor also has 4 more bedrooms with private bathrooms and laundry room. The basement is partially finished with a media room located on the lowest level and a tree-lined backyard with a large deck perfect for entertaining and relaxing outside.

Along with longtime partner and former Miss Universe Amelia Vega, 37-year-old Dominican basketball player Horford—known to admirers as “Big Al”—shares a mansion in Atlanta’s Sandy Springs district. Brookline real estate is for sale.

The Sarkis Group at Douglas Elliman is the owner of the listing at 100 Cottage St.
