Conor McGregor shares behind the scenes pictures from boxing spar with UFC prospect Ian Garry

Conor McGregor recently sparred Ian Gary in MMA and boxing.

On Saturday, ‘Notorious’ shared footage of him at an MMA gym exchanging leg kicks with Garry who is a self-confessed fan of the former dual-weight UFC champion.

A few follow-up pictures showed that the two men later visited McGregor’s famous Black Forge Inn pub and shared some food together.

It seems they also visited Crumlin Boxing Club for a second spar.

On Sunday evening, McGregor shared ten pictures of him and Garry in the ring and they show him exchanging punches and ideas with his fellow Irishman.

He captioned the post: “Big Irish. Great work with the lad Ian Garry at Crumlin Boxing Club.”

The 35-year-old MMA legend is ramping up training ahead of his comeback.

McGregor hasn’t fought since breaking his leg during a trilogy bout with Dustin Poirier at UFC 264 in July 2021, but he is fully fit and desperate to compete before the year is over.

‘Mystic Mac’ has repeatedly predicted he will fight Michael Chandler at UFC 296 on December 16 and he even shared a ‘leak’ to prove he’ll return before Christmas.

UFC president Dana White claimed the image McGregor shared was created by AI after previously claiming his biggest star is unlikely to fight until the first quarter of 2024.

Garry is hoping to get one more scrap in before the turn of the year.

‘The Future’ recently picked up the biggest win of his career when he dominated Neil Mangy over three rounds at UFC 292 in August.

Post-fight, he called out Stephen Thompson and proposed they fight on the undercard of Jon Jones’ heavyweight title defence against Stipe Miocic at UFC 295 on November 11.

‘Wonderboy’ quickly rejected the offer and told talkSPORT his intention is to face Kamaru Usman next because he doesn’t want to act as a gatekeeper for Garry.

It’s still hoped the former Cage Warriors champion will compete at Madison Square Garden in a couple of months’ time, although it’s currently unclear who he will fight.

Whomever it is, Garry will be well prepared after sharing a few rounds and getting some tips from McGregor who has been there, done that, and got the T-shirt.
