Brett and Susie Hardt of North Scottsdale, Arizona, have a real home court advantage. They are currently selling their estate for $23.5 million, which has hosted nearly 70 NBA players and includes a sneaker collection worth more than $400,000.
It took creative vision, five years and an unlimited budget to complete the contemporary brick Mediterranean home known as HardtSeasons. Built on nearly 4.5 acres in 2017, the estate includes a 21,410-square-foot main residence with five large bedrooms and 18 bathrooms and a separate two-bedroom, two-bathroom guest house. Throughout the property are city, mountain and sunset views, whether from the home’s private balconies and expansive windows or its landscaped outdoor areas.
The home is part of Prado Estates, a community known for its privacy and exclusivity. Among the Hardts’ neighbors are two sports superstars as well as the CEO of a large garbage disposal company, according to Brett Hardt.
Hardt, the co-founder of a staffing and recruiting company for insurance claim adjusters, was ingrained in local youth basketball at the time of building the home and his oldest son was an elite junior player.
“Court time is the biggest problem for young players, so we decided to build our own court,” Hardt said. The family calls the basketball facility B/3.
The sellers built the court because they were heavily involved in local youth basketball at the time and their oldest son was an elite junior player.

The family’s full-sized, NBA-quality facility 15 feet below ground features a locker room with five bathrooms, a gym area, a loft with spectator seating and a kitchen, and a professional scoreboard. There’s also a private entrance and private parking.
Through his NBA connections, Hardt has hosted several NBA players at their home court, including the late Kobe Bryant, Chris Paul, Damian Lillard, Torrey Craig and Mikal Bridges. Depending on the new homeowners, an invite could be extended to continue his arrangement with some of the current players.
“Four years ago, a top NBA player’s agency visited B/3 and fell in love with the court and the amenities,” he said. “They asked if they could run their pre-draft camp for their future NBA players, and for six weeks, a group of 12 players trained here before getting drafted.”
The climate-controlled wood court has 25-foot ceilings. Its design has a barn-like feel with an exposed wood-beam ceiling. The court is also lined for pickleball.
“NBA players love coming to B/3 for many reasons,” he said. “They love the privacy, they love the court. I have players from just about every NBA team that have asked if they can come to B/3 for a workout. I had Shaq’s [Shaquille O’Neal] son Shareef train here, and he said to me, ‘Your gym is better than my dad’s.’”
Another draw for basketball fans is the Jordan Room, a mini sneaker museum that holds up to 325 pairs of shoes and cost $300,000 to build. The retail cost of the 290 Jordan sneakers currently on display exceeds $400,000, according to Hardt, and is included in the sale price of the home.

Beyond its basketball appeal, the main two-story building has a double-height living room with exposed wood beams and a large horizontal fireplace. An open, winding metal staircase leads to a second-floor lounge area.
The primary quarters include spa-like amenities with a large shower area, soaking tub and back-to-back vanities. Additional outdoor features include a hot tub, shower and fireplace.
A state-of-the-art kitchen includes Wolf appliances and a pantry lined in Chicago brick.
“I was born and raised in Chicago,” Hardt said. “Chicago brick is a staple in the city, and that was a must have for our stone choice. There are actually bricks in our house that were saved from the Chicago Fire—priceless.”
Additional amenities include smart-home technology, a movie theater, a state-of-the-art golf simulator and a playroom.
Outdoors, there are two pools and a hot tub with fountains, a built-in barbecue under a covered patio, a bar area, multiple TVs and a misting system. A large, rectangular fire pit overlooks a 9-hole putting green, five chipping pads and practice ranges up to 65 yards. There is also a 3/10-of-a-mile jogging track that encircles the property.
The estate stands on nearly 4.5 acres.

“It’s not only a unique house in Scottsdale, but I don’t think there’s anything like it in the entire state,” said Pushpit Tandon, one of the listing agents from David Newman Partners along with the agency’s founder, David Newman. “It’s one of one.”

Inside the main home, the primary suite offers indoor and outdoor spa-like amenities. Outside, in addition to a large lap pool, there is a second deep pool with a diving deck. Both pools have fully electric covers that allow for year-round use. The outdoor area also includes a covered patio with a built-in barbecue and bar area, a misting system, a golf practice area and a jogging track. There are nine temperature-controlled garage spaces in total.
A separate guest house is ideal for extended visits.
“We wanted to let people enjoy long vacations where they feel like they are staying in their own resort without feeling like they are a burden,” Hardt said.
Neighborhood Notes
The family, who previously lived nearby, decided to move to Prado Estates due to its convenient location to work, school and social activities. The home is less than 30 miles northeast of Phoenix, which includes easy access to Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport; the Footprint Center, home of the Phoenix Suns; and Chase Field, where the Arizona Diamondbacks play. It is also convenient to Scottsdale National Golf Club and many other highly rated courses.

“By just moving 5 miles down the hill, our time savings is about a week of our life,” Hardt said. “Plus, we wanted to be at 2,000 feet of elevation in order to enjoy about a 10% lower temperature than Phoenix and about 5% cooler than Silverleaf.”
