The star’s newest film Birds of Prey will see Margot reprise her role of Harley Quinn in the film, who first appeared in 2016’s Suicide Squad.

Birds of Prey is set after that film ended, following Harley’s split with Jared Leto’s Joker, as she forms a new all-female team.

The story follows her as she teams up with Helena Bertinelli a.k.a. Huntress (Mary Elizabeth Winstead), Dinah Lance a.k.a. Black Canary (Jurnee Smollett-Bell) and Renee Montoya (Rosie Perez) to form the Birds of Prey.

Margot (R) is nominated for Best Performance by an Actress in a Supporting Role for her role in Bombshell, alongside Nicole Kidman (L) and Charlize Theron (Center)

The cast also includes Ewan McGregor as Black Mask and Chris Messina as Victor Zsasz and is poised to possibly be one of the first big box office hits of the year, with early box office projections putting it between $40 million and $60 million for its opening weekend.

With a reported budget of $75 million, it could be quite the profitable hit, if it does well overseas and it manages to out-gross its domestic projection of $100 million to $150 million.

Margot is also expected to return in the Suicide Squad sequel plus Gotham City Sirens and another project that reunites her with Jared Leto’s Joker, but those are still in early stages of development.

The 92nd Oscar Awards will be held on February 9 in Hollywood.
