Ariana Grande stuns as Glinda in Vanity Fair’s first look of Wicked adaptation with Cynthia Erivo.

Wicked fans got an exciting first look of Ariana Grande and her costars, including Cynthia Erivo, who portrays Elphaba, the Wicked Witch of the West, on set of Universal’s film adaptation of the beloved Broadway musical.

In brand-new images of the pop star, 30, in character as Glinda, released by Vanity Fair on Thursday, the two-time Grammy winner looked absolutely angelic in a strapless, bubblegum-pink ballgown and sparkly tiara on her head.

She was surrounded by tulips and could be seen holding a wand, which is the source of Glinda’s powers, as she stood just steps away from the yellow brick road in the magical Land of Oz.

Another picture showed her perched on top of a wardrobe chest in a striped blazer and long pleated skirt, next to a rack of pink clothing, as Erivo, 37, sat on a bed surrounded by books.

Additionally, the duo posed for a full cast picture with Jeff Goldblum, Michelle Yeoh, Grande’s boyfriend Ethan Slater, Jonathan Bailey, Marissa Bode, Bowen Yang and Bronwyn James.

While reflecting on her decade-long quest to portray Glinda, her dream role, Grande reflected on the process and looking for her own opportunities, including ‘stalking’ producer Marc Platt to get the part.

‘It was literally 10 years of being like, ‘Knock, knock, any developments? Is there an audition coming this year, or next year? I would like to start preparing today,” the Everyday hitmaker told Vanity Fair.

While Jon M. Chu, who directed Grande in Wicked, was considering casting unknown performers in the leading roles, which launched Kristin Chenoweth and Idina Menzel into stardom, Grande won him over.

‘Every time she came in to audition, she’d be there at least 30 minutes early,’ he recalled. ‘I’d see her car circling. I’d be like, ‘Who is that?’ ‘That’s Ariana Grande.’ ‘Why is she here so early?”

Despite being just one award short on Hollywood’s ultimate achievement, an EGOT award, Erivo confessed that she did not think she had a shot at securing her role as Elphaba.

‘[I] honestly didn’t believe I’d be seen [for the role],’ she said.

Once, she got the call, the Tony winner said she began ‘training like’ she ‘was a boxer.’

While speaking about Grande, Erivo raved about her performance and character.

‘I just need to say that I don’t think people realize that she’s got the chops,’ she said. ‘I don’t think people realize how brilliant this person’s brain and voice and talent is.’

The comment made the former Nickelodeon star’s eyes well up, before prompting her to return the compliment with one of her own.

‘She’s my favorite female voice. When I was watching you sing at the Oscars, I said, ‘I hope someday I get to sing with her,” Grande told her.
