Conor McGregor has a lot of wealth, and what do you do when you have a lot of wealth? Go sneaker shopping with Hollywood icon Jake Gyllenhaal! Or maybe, that’s just a McGregor thing. The UFC star has been away from the cage for several years now and perhaps, he needs to run back wearing fresh kicks.
McGregor is a brilliant promoter. He hasn’t left any stones unturned in his bid to promote his new film ‘Road House’ which also happens to be his Hollywood debut. His acting skills have at least paid him off with about $5.5 million in his maiden Hollywood paycheck and looks like he knows where to put his money.
Conor McGregor, a decorated shoe lover
Conor McGregor loves flaunting his wealth, particularly his shoes, and watches. Hence, it only made sense for him to buy Nike shoes worth thousands to make sure his high-class outfits had high-class footwear to accompany them.
In a recent video by Complex, McGregor can be seen picking out some of the finest shoes, mostly by Nike, for himself and his family – from Air Jordans to the Louis Vuitton collaboration with Nike’s Air Force 1 that cost him almost $10,000.
The overall buy of about 17 different pairs of iconic shoes cost ‘The Notorious’ almost $26,000 as shown in the video. This was in much contrast to his co-star, Jake Gyllenhaal’s shopping bag, which was filled to the brim with white Nike Air Force 01 Low shoes.
Gyllenhaal bought several pairs which put him behind by about $1928. Of course, the star wasn’t about to use a different pair of the same shoe every day, it was instead going to all go to charity. After McGregor’s shoe-buying spree was over, he took to his Instagram stories to address it all with the caption, “Drop it like it’s hot”. Now, the question remains about another drop. Will Dana White drop a date for McGregor’s return fight?
Will McGregor return this summer?
Conor McGregor recently told the world that a return date for him this summer was “all systems go”. However, Dana White does not seem to be on the same lines as the Irishman as he addressed the situation in a recent episode of the Pound4Pound podcast.
“There’s no lack of communication. You know where Conor is tonight? He’s in New York City for the premiere of ‘Road House.’ He has obligations right now to promote this movie, so he’s been flying all over the world going to all the premieres of this launch, this is an obligation that he has to do,” White said.
“… It is what it is. He committed to this movie, he has obligations to this movie, he can’t do both,” the CEO added. Clearly, both the parties are saying different things about the return all over again. Will Conor McGregor then actually come back soon? What are your thoughts?
