Patrick Mahomes responds to the new J Cole album, sparking fan speculation about whether the Chiefs quarterback is aligning himself with the rapper after his Kendrick Lamar diss: “If Pat supports Cole, I support Cole.”

Patrick Mahomes‘ reaction to J Cole’s new album had fans wondering if the Chiefs quarterback is siding with him after hitting back at fellow rapper Kendrick Lamar.

On Friday, the three-time Super Bowl MVP took to X (formerly Twitter) and wrote ‘Cole’ followed by two fire emojis.

The post came shortly after Cole released his new 12-track album ‘Might Delete Later.’ While the comment section had fans admiring Mahomes’ appreciation for Cole’s music, others saw him picking a side amid the rappers’ apparent conflict.

‘If Pat backs Cole, I back Cole,’ one user wrote.

‘As much as I respect you as a quarterback, there’s no way you thought that this J Cole diss on Kendrick Lamar was actually good,’ another added.

Some fans took the tweet as Mahomes picking a side between Cole and Lamar

Fans believe that Cole fired back at Lamar in his song ‘7 Minute Drill’ from the new album

‘Nah not picking Cole over Kdot Pat cmon (come on),’ a third chimed in.

A fourth user declared: ‘Drake and Cole got Mahomes on the team? It’s over.’

The ‘diss’ exchange when Lamar sent shockwaves through the rap fanbase with his verse on ‘Like That’ from Future and Metro Boomin’s new joint album ‘We Don’t Trust You.’ In the track, the Compton native dismissed the idea of himself, Cole, and Drake being the ‘Big 3’ of Hip Hop.

Fans believe Cole fired back with the song ‘7 Minute Drill’ in his latest release, leading to speculation about Mahomes siding with the two-time Grammy winner.

However, the tweet may also be Mahomes showing his appreciation for Cole after mentioning him in one of his new tracks. In ‘Read ’24’, Cole raps: ‘I aimed for the stars and hit, shit was a long shot/ I’m tryna get more bread than Patrick Mahomes got.’
