The actress may have lost her category, but she won the night with a perfect one-liner.
Jennifer Lawrence took her 2024 Golden Globe nomination very, very seriously.
The 33-year-old actress was nominated this year for her raunchy role in No Hard Feelings, competing for best performance by an actress in a movie musical or comedy. As her category was announced at Sunday night’s award show, Lawrence turned to camera, narrowing her eyes and mouthing a comedic threat: “If I don’t win, I’m leaving.”
Ultimately, Lawrence did lose her category, as Emma Stone took home the trophy instead for her role in Poor Things. But threats aside, Lawrence seemed legitimately thrilled for Stone, leaping to her feet and celebrating her win with loud cheers.
Stone and Lawrence also competed against Fantasia Barrino for The Color Purple, Natalie Portman for May December, Alma Pöysti for Fallen Leaves, and Margot Robbie for Barbie.
Lawrence is a frequent Golden Globes attendee: She’s been nominated six times and won three times, winning for Silver Linings Playbook, American Hustle, and Joy.
