The cozy L.A. retreat of actor Tony Hale is up for auction for $2.6 million.

Tony Hale, the Emmy-winning actor, has chosen to split ways with his “cozy, sit-by-the-fire refuge” in Los Angeles after more than seven years of ownership. Tucked away in the Studio City mountains, the lovely ranch house with Nantucket-inspired architecture has a price tag of about $2.7 million, according to records. The star of Veep and Arrested Development is also involved.

Even though that’s over a million more than he and his makeup artist wife Martel paid for the property back in 2016, the couple worked with Martin & Brockett designer Jason Martin to extensively renovate the space during their stay. The 1930s home, which was featured in Architectural Digest and marketed as a “picture perfect traditional hideaway,” has two bedrooms, two full bathrooms, and a powder room spread across slightly more than 2,400 square feet of contemporary but hospitable living space, all accented with a mix of hardwood and slate stone floors, bay windows, and French doors leading outside. A detached two-car garage and a separate guesthouse with one bedroom and one bathroom are also included.

Situated on nearly one-third of an acre of ground with a view of the gorgeous city lights and mountains, the creamy stucco and brick-accented building is greeted by gates and tall hedges. The interior features an expansive living room with natural light streaming in from the wood-burning fireplace, formal dining room, and kitchen with marble countertops, custom cabinetry, subway tile backsplash, farmhouse sink, Wolf six-burner range, and breakfast nook with built-in window seat.

The two private bedrooms each include a covered porch that is heated by a fireplace, a walk-in closet, and a luxurious bathroom with double vanities, a soaking tub, and a walk-in shower. There are also private turf-covered gardens dotted with fruit trees, a hidden bar, a wine cellar, and a laundry room, as well as other al fresco areas for socializing and relaxing that are complemented by a bonfire, a bar, and a BBQ setup. Solar panels, a tree swing, and an alarm system all enhance the appeal of the house.

The 53-year-old comedian and actor, who is originally from New York, rose to fame as Buster Bluth on the Fox series Arrested Development. He then won two Emmys for “Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series” for his role as HBO’s Veep’s personal assistant Gary Walsh. Hale’s most recent role is as the voice of Fear in Disney/Pixar’s Inside Out 2, an animated follow-up to the 2015 film that won an Oscar.

Carrie Lewis of Douglas Elliman is the owner of the listing.
