Tyson Fury sent fired up text message to team member after returning to gym for Oleksandr Usyk rematch

Tyson Fury is focused solely on revenge after returning to the gym for his Oleksandr Usyk rematch.

The ‘Gypsy King’ missed out on becoming undisputed heavyweight champion as he fell to a points defeat against Usyk, but will now get a shot at redemption on December 21.

Fury posted a video of himself crushing the heavy bag having returned to his Morecambe gym, as he fired on all cylinders in a warning message to the Ukrainian.

And his ex-cutman Jorge Capetillo, who is still very firmly behind Team Gypsy King, has been in contact with the former WBC champion and has confirmed he is in good spirits.

He told Betway: “I messaged him, and he is really good. Tyson said he was ‘fine, back in the gym and ready to rock and roll’.

“He is ready to bounce back, and I know he will because he is a strong man. He should be able to bounce back from this loss and I couldn’t be more proud of him.

“He’s already conquered everything in boxing. He’s showed the world that anything can happen by coming back from his mental health to become world champion again.

“After the three fights against Deontay Wilder, he has nothing to prove. He still has a lot of passion for boxing and I’m truly happy for him and know he will become undisputed champion of the world.”

When asked what he thinks Fury should change to reverse the defeat, he added: “I think the pace, keep his hands up a little bit more, sit a little bit more and not jump too much.

“He can walk in instead of jumping and start boxing more, because he’s too big and heavy. You can jump for a couple of seconds but not for a couple of rounds.

“He needs to box more, keep his guard up and keep it tight. He’s the bigger man and he needs to push back Usyk.

“He was being efficient when he was pushing him back because he’s the bigger man.”

Fury was in control during parts of the fight, but was knocked down in the ninth after a ferocious output from Usyk threatened to close the show.

It was a disappointing result for the Briton, who surprisingly felt he had done enough to make history and become the first to hold all four belts since 1999.

But it was Usyk who was able to record the feat, and now Fury knows he needs an improved display to have a chance of returning to the top.

Concerns had been raised over a video in which he was escorted out of a pub having reportedly had ‘too much to drink’.

But Fury clearly wants to put that behind him and is acting with real intent.

His rival is currently waiting to discover if undisputed status will be on the line in December, having requested an ‘exemption’ to prevent himself from being stripped of the IBF belt.

Although reversing the loss is likely to be Fury’s main objective.

A win for Fury could tee up the all-important British showdown with Anthony Joshua in 2025, which could provide another lucrative payday.
