Cher Lists Her Remodeled Former Beverly Hills Residence for $4.1 Million

In 2013, Ed O’Neill of Modern Family, another well-known figure in Hollywood, sold his isolated Beverly Hills property to Cher for just over $2.1 million. Five years later, the lasting powerhouse of show business put the house back on the market for $2.5 million, selling it for little less than she had spent, according to tax documents. The $4.1 million property, which was formerly a celebrity hideout, is once again up for grabs after a thorough renovation. The listing is held by Aneela Zaman, Ernie Carswell, and Douglas Elliman.

Constructed in 1957, the two-story house is located in the Coldwater Canyon neighborhood on a half-acre at the end of a cul-de-sac in a small glen. Throughout 3,089 square feet of living space, there are four bedrooms and three bathrooms in addition to prominent features like bay windows and rustic wood beam ceilings. The house has three fireplaces at the very least, which adds to its beauty. Its serene surroundings, which include peaceful gardens, may be its true selling feature.

When the “Strong Enough” singer owned the 90210 pad, its façade somewhat mirrored a French country house with red brick accents across its beige stucco exterior. Following its revamp, a monochromatic olive green now covers those contrasting materials, giving it a more streamlined look. The lighter, wheat-colored wood floors that replaced darker oak floorboards inside the home are the first thing you might notice from the front door, other than the minimalist fireplace in the combination living and dining room. French doors on either side of the fireplace lead to a tree-shaded brick terrace, where the aforementioned gargoyle fountain is located.

The kitchen is open to the living/dining room over a breakfast bar. It features a small breakfast nook alongside a high-end gas range and a Sub-Zero refrigerator. An office and the den with a wet bar, plus outdoor access, are other highlights of the home’s main floor.

The main suite’s eye-catching vaulted ceiling and bay windows that frame views of lush foliage make it surprisingly roomy and light. Two fireplaces, a wet bar, dark wood cabinetry in the walk-in closet, and a travertine-tiled bathroom with a soaking tub and double shower make this apartment a sanctuary unto itself.

Encircled by tall trees, the house’s numerous patios and decks are enhanced by a synthetic grassed space situated in a bright clearing, including a cascading waterfall that cascades into a petite pond from a tumble of boulders. Additionally, the canyon hideaway is conveniently close to popular L.A. destinations like the Michelin-starred Gucci Osteria da Massimo Bottura, LACMA, and Chateau Marmot, should you decide to brave the traffic.

Cher’s main home has always been a magnificent Malibu estate built in the Italian Renaissance style with a view of the Pacific Ocean. After first attempting to sell it for $85 million, the “Goddess of Pop” is asking $75 million for the property.
