Conor McGregor seemingly sports blood on his gloves in return back to sparring after pinky toe injury

Conor McGregor appears to have returned to full contact sparring following a broken toe injury that kept him out of UFC 303. In a series of snaps on Instagram, the Irishman showed off his skills as well as blood on gloves, suggesting he is close to a fighting return.

‘The Notorious’ had been set to step back into the octagon after nearly three years away when he was due to face Michael Chandler at UFC 303 last month. Unfortunately, however, McGregor was forced to pull out from the fight after he suffered a broken toe whilst in his fight camp.

Conor McGregor has since assured fans that he is still planning on returning to the cage in 2024, but has vowed to compete whilst 100% healthy at this stage of his career.

Whilst fans were disappointed but understanding of the Irishman’s decision to delay his return, it now appears as though it isn’t long until McGregor makes his iconic walk to the octagon once again.

Amongst the series of photos he shared from his latest sparring session, McGregor can be seen in his typical stance of holding his hands behind his back.

He captioned the post:

Conor McGregor has revealed that his backing of Nate Diaz paid off, as the Irishman took home over $1.6 million after betting on the Stockton native.

Diaz and Masvidal faced off in a boxing ring last weekend, running back their BMF title bout in the UFC from 2019. The bout went the distance and both men put on a highly entertaining contest that saw Diaz clinch the win via majority decision.

Prior to the fight, McGregor had taken to social media to reveal that he had placed a $500,000 bet on his rival to seal the win after stating he couldn’t see a path to victory for Masvidal.

Then, following the result, ‘The Notorious’ responded to his own post and congratulated both himself and Diaz. He tweeted:

“THE RICH GET RICHER!!! Well done Nate, congrats! 💰💰💰”
