Angelina Jolie had a narrow miss while being chauffeured in the rain on Sunday, according to a report.

The 39-year-old was returning home after a screening of Unbroken in Beverly Hills when her hired Chevy Suburban skidded in the rain, X17 Online reports.

The SUV then allegedly hit a curb with the impact exploding two tires at 6.45pm after the actress left the Writers’ Guild Theater.

‘It was pretty bad – the tire exploded and it’s amazing nothing worse happened to the car. I wouldn’t be surprised if she has whiplash.’

Jolie is reported to have been picked up soon after by another driver in a second hired car.

Earlier that same day everything looked like a fairy tale offering no hint of the scare to come.

The star looked like a classic Hollywood beauty in a chic white cashmere coat and sunglasses as she arrived at a Beverly Hills cinema for a screening of her new movie Unbroken.

 

While Angelina does not appear in the film, she directed the upcoming World War II drama.

Her chestnut locks were glossy and blow-dried into voluminous layers and she covered her eyes with large sunglasses.

Adding designer flair, Angelina accessorised with a large Louis Vuitton handbag.

Unbroken, written by the Coen brothers, charts the incredible life of Louis Zamperini and stars young British rising star Jack O’Connell.

Zamperini, a Second World War hero and athlete who ran in the 1936 Berlin Olympics survived a harrowing 47 days afloat in the Pacific Ocean following the 1943 crash of his US military plane.

He then spends the following two years as a prisoner of war after washing up behind Japanese lines.

‘It’s not about separation and division,’ Jolie said of the brutal scenes from Zamperini’s imprisonment and torture at the hands of a sadistic Japanese officer.
