Sean O’Malley says he can defeat Conor McGregor, calls out ‘The Notorious’: “Talk sh*t, let’s do it”

Sean O’Malley took aim at Conor McGregor and expressed interest in fighting him. He believes he matches up well against him and is even confident that he would get his hand raised.

The two UFC stars were initially on good terms as ‘The Notorious’ congratulated him on his bantamweight championship win, but it appears as though they are now at odds with each other. ‘Suga’ has been among the fighters that the Irishman has blasted on social media and has clapped back at the former two-division champion.

Championship Rounds tweeted a clip from the bantamweight champion’s podcast, which shows him sounding off on ‘The Notorious’. O’Malley noted that he is aware of the size discrepancy with other lightweights but is confident with his chances against McGregor and mentioned that he can defeat him. He said:

“There’s weight classes for a reason. I’m not gonna chirp those guys [at lightweight]. I will chirp Conor [McGregor] because I do believe I can beat Conor in a fight. I’m not just saying that, I think stylistically I could beat Conor in a fight…I wouldn’t call out somebody if I didn’t think I could beat them in a fight…Conor’s 5’7″…He’s thick but he’s short…Talk sh*t, let’s do it.”

Sean O’Malley took a dig at Conor McGregor’s place among the MMA greats

Sean O’Malley’s comments from his podcast aren’t the only time he has taken aim at Conor McGregor in recent weeks, as he recently also took a dig at the Irishman’s place among the MMA greats.

O’Malley took to his X account and blasted McGregor for his recent performances and record in his last five UFC bouts. He wrote:

“Conor [McGregor] isn’t in anyone’s GOAT talk. Entertainment, yes, but skills, no. Has really good left hand. Sh*t cardio. Weak Jits. Decently athletic. Mentally weak. Drug addict, needs rehab. 1-4 last 5 fights. Still fan tho. Hope toe heals up.”
