Lewis Hamilton consoles close friend Miles Chamley-Watson after fencer’s Olympic loss

Lewis Hamilton was recently seen consoling popular American fencer Miles Chamley-Watson after he and his fencing team lost to France in the fencing bronze medal match at the 2024 Paris Olympic Games. Both were seen talking to each other after the game.

As F1 is on a break for the summer, several F1 drivers, including Lewis Hamilton, have been seen in attendance at the 2024 Olympic Games in Paris. The seven-time world champion was spotted watching on during the bronze medal match in fencing on July 4, 2024.

The match between France and the United States ended 45-32 in favor of France. France won the bronze medal, while Japan and Italy won gold and silver, respectively.

After the match, Chamley-Watson was seen hugging and speaking with Hamilton after a group picture with other celebrities who attended the event. Both Hamilton and Chamley-Watson had arms around each other’s shoulders as the former seemed to offer words of consolation to the latter.

Chamley-Watson has been fencing at the Olympics since 2012 and has won five gold medals, combining individual and team medals. He has won 13 gold medals in Pan American Games.

Both Chamley-Watson and Hamilton are good friends and have supported each other throughout their careers. The American fencer has been seen at Grands Prix, offering support to the Mercedes star.

Lewis Hamilton shares words of encouragement for Miles Chamley-Watson at 2024 Paris Olympics

Lewis Hamilton recently posted pictures of him attending the 2024 Paris Olympics and supporting his good friend Miles Chamley-Watson in the bronze medal fencing match.

The F1 driver posted selfies with celebrities like Hollywood actress Nina Dobrev, snowboarding gold medalist Shaun White, and more. The seven-time world champion attended the fencing match between the United States and France. In this match, his good friend Chamley-Watson was also participating. France won the match and clinched the bronze medal.

Following this, Hamilton wrote about his experience at the Paris Olympics and had words of consolation and encouragement for Chamley-Watson:

“Such an amazing experience to be at the Olympics to and feel the energy of the crowd. The dedication, focus and resilience of these competitors is incredible to witness up close. @fencer, I’m so proud of you brother. The challenges you’ve faced and overcome to get here is nothing short of amazing. Adversity makes us stronger and from it we learn our greatest lessons. The best is yet to come,” Hamilton wrote.

The popular American fencer replied to Hamilton’s post with some words of gratitude:

“Love you brother. Meant that world to have you there. Thanks for picking my head up and supporting me,” Chamley-Watson replied.

Hamilton’s next outing on the F1 grid is in the Netherlands, with the Dutch Grand Prix scheduled for 25th August, 2024.
