Cody Rhodes could face Roman Reigns again, but not before beating 2 major WWE stars

Cody Rhodes ended Roman Reigns’ historic Undisputed WWE Universal Championship reign at WrestleMania 40. A WWE analyst now thinks the two could square off again, but after The American Nightmare had defended his title against two top superstars.

Sam Roberts recently predicted that Kevin Owens would turn heel and betray Rhodes after potentially losing their title match at Bash in Berlin. Meanwhile, he suggested that Randy Orton also turn on The American Nightmare and challenge him to an Undisputed WWE Championship match after he fails to dethrone the World Heavyweight Champion, Gunther in the German capital.

Roberts pointed out that Rhodes could have his third match against Reigns after overcoming his two former allies. The Original Tribal Chief and The American Nightmare have previously exchanged victories at WrestleMania 39 and 40, respectively.

“After going through Kevin Owens as a villain, after going through Randy Orton as a villain, maybe that is when he’s looking face-to-face with Roman Reigns. Because Roman Reigns still doesn’t think that Cody is ready to fight him,” he said. [17:50 – 18:04]

Is Cody Rhodes uncomfortable with the idea of facing the former Undisputed WWE Universal Champion?

Last Friday on SmackDown, Cody Rhodes discussed having a title match against Kevin Owens with the latter and SmackDown General Manager, Nick Aldis. The backstage segment saw the GM revealing that he was considering giving Roman Reigns a rematch against The American Nightmare.

While addressing the segment on his Notsam Wrestling podcast, Sam Roberts claimed Rhodes seemed uncomfortable with the idea of fighting The Original Tribal Chief again.

“You saw his [Cody’s] face when Nick Aldis brought up Roman Reigns. He didn’t look all that comfortable with it. He didn’t look like this was a great idea for him. And it’s not. And it shouldn’t be perceived that way,” he said.

Former WWE host, Matt Camp also predicted that Reigns and Rhodes will have a third match. He proposed that it could happen on the premiere episode of RAW on Netflix. It would be interesting to see if his prediction will come true.
