“He’s an approved dog daddy” – $10M-worth F1 driver picks Lewis Hamilton to look after his dog

Haas F1 driver Nico Hulkenberg picked Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton as the person to look after his dog, calling him an “approved dog daddy.” The seven-time world champion used to have two dogs named Roscoe and Coco. Coco passed away a couple of years ago.

The 39-year-old Mercedes driver has a social media profile for his dog Roscoe, a bulldog, on Instagram. Hulkenberg, who is worth $10 million (according to Celebritynetworth.com), has owned a poodle named Zeus for quite some time.

In a Q&A session with F1.com, Hulkenberg picked Hamilton as someone who could look after Zeus. He said:

“I’d probably go for Lewis because he’s an approved dog daddy. I think he’s the most responsible, probably, of all of them.”

Hamilton travels with Roscoe on occasion to the races and has been seen walking with her in the paddock. In a Q&A session on Mercedes’s YouTube page, he revealed the story behind picking his dog’s name:

“I don’t know… I just thought it was a cool name. I remember being online, looking online for rescues. There’s some page I found that had like 1,000 bulldogs and I just went through all of them and then I came across this one picture and I was like, ‘That’s him!’ And that was like one of the best decisions I ever took in my life.” (8:24)

Lewis Hamilton reveals favorite activities with his dog

Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton shared that his British bulldog Roscoe loves to travel with him on quad bikes during the driver’s time away from the track.

In a Q&A session on YouTube, the seven-time world champion divulged some details about Roscoe, saying:

“In the summer I love to go on motorbike tours. Through the mountains with my friends and we stop usually and we’ll paintball halfway through. Roscoe likes going on the quad bike.”I remember putting him on at one time and then I put him down and he kept on trying to get back on. So I just take… he just likes being lazy and being taken around.” (2:04)

Hamilton would have enjoyed his time in the mid-season break with Roscoe but should now be raring to get back on track this weekend in Zandvoort as F1 returns to on-track action for the second half of the season.

The Mercedes driver entered the summer break on a high as he won two of the last three races before the break and would like to build on the momentum and help Mercedes fight for more race wins for the remainder of his final season with the German team.
