The Duchess of Sus𝑠e𝑥, a former actress, lived in the rented two-story home in Seaton Village with her two dogs until 2017, while filming the show and dating Prince Harry, who visited Toronto often, under the radar.  Harry described visiting the Toronto house for the first time in his autobiography “Spare.”

“Meg was excited to show me her life, her dogs, her little house, which she adored,” he wrote.

In fact, the couple were in Toronto when they heard that the press had discovered they were dating, according to “Finding Freedom,” a 2020 biography about the couple, which Markle contributed to. The news caught them off guard and they had to act quickly, according to the book.

“There were only a couple of paparazzi in Toronto, but it wouldn’t be long before photographers flew in from New York and L.A., all hoping to get that first picture of the happy couple.”

Markle lived at the Toronto house until the couple made their engagement official in November 2017. She then moved to her new opulent home, Kensington Palace in London.

The Toronto property was listed for sale less than a month later for C$1.395 million, and quickly sold. The open house drew many interested royal gossips, along with some serious buyers, the agent at the time told the Toronto Star. “I don’t feel like we’re going to see a princess premium,” Alex Beauregard, the agent at the time said. “Would you pay an extra C$20,000 because the prince used this washroom?”

The owners listed the home with Daniel Freeman of Freeman Realty earlier this week. Freeman did not immediately respond to a request for comment, and the owners could not be reached for comment. The listing was first reported in the Canadian press.

Located on a quiet block in the Seaton Village section of Toronto near the Annex, the home is not too far from the Bay Adelaide Center in downtown Toronto, which served as the home of the fictional law firm in “Suits” where Markle’s character, Rachel Zane, was a paralegal.

Other homes in the neighborhood are asking within the $2 million to $3 million range, making this home comparatively affordable. The garage can also be converted into a guest suite spanning 1,330 square feet, according to the listing.
