Jennifer Lawrence and Emma Stone’s Friendship commenced in a hostile manner

The oddball connection between Hollywood A-listers Emma Stone and Jennifer Lawrence ranks quite high on our ranking of celebrity friendships.

Given that both celebrities are regarded as some of the funniest in Hollywood, it’s hardly surprising that their initial exchange was funny.

Lawrence revealed in a recent Vanity Fair interview that she and Stone first texted one other after being recommended by their shared co-star Woody Harrelson. “I replied, ‘F**k off!'” was J. Law’s straight response to Emma, who was the first to reach out. Lawrence continued, “And we’ve been really good friends ever since.” We sincerely hope that this conversation will one day be included in a biopic.

The two kept in daily contact for the next year when Lawrence sent a mockingly hostile text. “I feel like it was our version of The Notebook—365 texts,” she remarked.

The two actresses agree that competition isn’t a problem between them, despite their comparable ages and frequent casting in similar roles.

“There was definitely an early on when I was like, ‘Oh hey, my ego is going nuts, she’s so great and vibrant and talented, I’m screwed, I’ll never work again, goodbye Yellow Brick Road.'” Stone wrote in an email to Vanity Fair of their acquaintance. Afterwards, I let go and realized that everyone has space and we are all unique, even though the industry doesn’t initially seem to endorse this notion.”

Lawrence offered a concise response to the problem back in October, saying, “I would’ve Tonya Harding’d her in the kneecaps if I wasn’t her biggest fan.”

Ah, genuine camaraderie.
