“Unicorn” Star Walton Goggins Lists Restored 1920s Los Angeles Home

Actor Walton Goggins, whose Tinseltown resume includes “Sons of Anarchy,” “Django Unchained” and “The Righteous Gemstones,” has listed his historic Los Angeles home for $3.35 million.

Built in 1927, the two-story brick spread listed Wednesday with Josh Myler of The Agency.

Mr. Goggins, 49, “has the design bug, in the sense that [he’s] so thoughtful and careful and fastidious about every detail,” Mr. Myler told Mansion Global, without mentioning the actor by name.

That detail that has gone into the design of the home is by far its biggest selling point, along with the care that went into its restoration, Mr. Myler said.

The actor has worked on the restoration throughout his ownership, which began in 2010 when he bought the home for $1.55 million, records with PropertyShark show.

The five-bedroom home has its original coffered front door and original windows—which had to be sandblasted after being painted shut at some point in their existence, according to Mr. Myler. There are also original hardwood floors and an over-sized, original stone wood-burning fireplace.

All are features that have ensured the house exudes its original character and charm, the listing said.

“It’s a 1920s-looking house with essentially brand-new bones, blood, veins everything,” Mr. Myler said. “It feels like a mini Chateau Marmont, but new,” he added referring to the famed Los Angeles hotel.

Spanning 3,240 square feet, the light-flooded home also has tiled floors, beamed ceilings, French doors, a formal living room, an office and a Juliet balcony, according to the listing.

Outside, the private backyard is home to outdoor dining areas, a fire pit and a pool.

“When you have people who really care about their home, it really translates to the energy when you’re walking through. It’s not just about the bones, it’s the care that’s taken when you design a house,” Mr. Myler said.

“When you walk into a good house you feel it, almost more than you see it,” he added.

Mr. Goggins, an Alabama native, has also starred in TV shows including “The Unicorn” and “The Shield” and the movie “The Hateful Eight.” A representative for the actor did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
