Habeeb Ogunneye will be hoping to make his Manchester United debut against Fenerbahce after Erik ten Hag named him in the 20-man squad that flew out to Istanbul on Wednesday.
A whole host of youngsters trained with the first team on Wednesday morning as United’s injury issues continue to mount. Ten Hag confirmed on Saturday that Toby Collyer had picked up an injury and so Jack Fletcher had been drafted into the matchday squad.
Another injury worry followed in midweek as Jonny Evans was not seen participating in training. However, Tyrell Malacia was present for the session as he makes his way back to full fitness and fellow left-back Luke Shaw took part in an individual training session. Malacia has not played for United since the 2022/23 campaign and Shaw has not played for the club since February.
Injury worries mean Ten Hag has turned to some of the club’s academy stars. Harry Amass has been named in the travelling squad after he impressed on the pre-season tour of the United States and Ogunneye has also made the cut.
Should either youngster make it onto the pitch on Thursday night it would mark their first senior appearance for the club.
