Meghan Markle has reportedly posed a “dealbreaker” to Prince Harry regarding any reconciliaton talks with the Royal Family as she does not want to get “sidelined” in the process, a source has claimed.
The Duke and Duchess of Sus𝑠e𝑥 have been estranged from the Royal Family since they quit their royal duties and moved to America in 2020, with the rift between the two camps becoming even frostier after the Montecito couple made a series of explosive claims against the Firm.
Harry and Prince William are reportedly not on speaking terms at the moment.
But recently, following King Charles and the Princess of Wales’s cancer diagnosis this year, as well as the Sus𝑠e𝑥es’s professional seperation to focus on their individual interests, reports suggested that a new path for a royal reconciliation may be open.
Heat World magazine has cited a source claiming that while Meghan is keen for Harry to “bury the hatchet” and make peace with his family, she wants to be involved in the equation.
They told the magazine: “Meghan is all for Harry making peace with his family, but she’s not going to let them sideline her in the process.
“She’s been very clear that she’s not about to let William, or anyone else, drive a wedge between her and Harry.
“Any attempt to handle things with just Harry is a no-go.
“She feels strongly that she and Harry a team, and if his family wants to welcome him back but not her, that will be a dealbreaker.”
They added that the Duke and Duchess of Sus𝑠e𝑥 are still very much a “package deal” .
The source explained: “There is a big worry that Meghan could turn out to be a real roadblock in the peace talks.
“Kate is still very optimistic, she’s seen a lot of changes in Harry, and she does believe he’s ready to compromise and let some of the past go, but she’s worried Meghan may stand in the way.”
They added: “As vocal as Harry’s been about wanting to reconcile, a lot of people do feel he’s still under Meghan’s influence and the worry is her stance could make it difficult for him to truly reach out.
“At the end of the day, Meghan and Kate both have very different ideas on what it will take for them to reconcile.”
