The Rock has spoken for the first time since returning to the WWE, promising to ‘make history’ with the company.
The 51-year-old made a shock return to the company on January 1, confronting Jinder Mahal but seeming to call out his real-life cousin and Undisputed WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns.
He has been touted to challenge Reigns at WrestleMania, with the current champion’s storyline being focused around his real-life family, particularly Jimmy and Jey Uso and Solo Sikoa, for much of his reign.
Cody Rhodes, who lost to Reigns at last year’s ‘Mania, seemed set to get his rematch at the show of shows, but The Rock’s return has raised doubts, leaving fans eagerly anticipating to see who will be in the main event.
While it’s still possible Rhodes could get his match, The Rock seems here to stay. This week, he took to Instagram to break his silence since his appearance on RAW.

‘These “electrifying” nights are so special and unforgettable,’ he said. ‘The connection with the people, the energy, vibe, authenticity, disruption, love, mana — the CHILLS.
‘And now we make history, raise the bar and do things that have never been done before in @wwe. We go all out. And all in.’
In the post, a video of his return, The Rock described the WWE as ‘home’, saying ‘it never, ever gets old’.
‘I am so boundlessly grateful not just to connect with the audiences, but to get out there in the middle of the ring and rock and roll,’ he added.
It has been long-thought that The Rock was the final hurdle to face in his family for Reigns, who is currently on a reign that has lasted for three years.
It was revealed late last year that the WWE came together to try and think of a plan for how the two could face off, but shelved any ideas for the time being.

The Rock’s return complicates things, however, with the battle to main event ‘Mania underway
‘The North Star thought was, “Okay, let’s not do something good, let’s not do something great, let’s do something unprecedented”,’ The Rock said on the Pat McAfee show last year following a one-off appearance in the WWE.
‘We can have the match but the bigger thought was what can we do for the fans of this business that we love where WrestleMania isn’t the end of something, it’s actually the beginning of something bigger?
‘We got really, really close but we couldn’t actually nail what that thing was. So, we decided to put our pencils down. Then we agreed, “Hey listen, there’s a merger coming up, eventually, that will happen, there’s WrestleMania in Philadelphia…
The Rock revealed last year that he had been in contact with the WWE to try and sort a match
‘I’m saying that’s a potential too, I’m open. But again, let’s figure out what that is because the fans deserve something just incredible and unprecedented, and not only that, but I also want to deliver to the locker room and the boys and the girls back there who are working their a**** off.
‘What can we do to put them in a position where they are part of something that is a new change, an era in this world of pro-wrestling?’
