The Golden State Warriors certainly missed the services of their talisman on Saturday night against the Milwaukee Bucks. With Stephen Curry sidelined, the Dubs just did not have enough in the tank to pull off what would have been a huge upset against Giannis Antetokounmpo and Co. at the Fiserv Forum.

In the end, Golden State fell to Milwaukee, 129-118.

The good news for Warriors fans is that Curry isn’t expected to be out for long. The Dubs had the former back-to-back MVP sit out Saturday’s clash due to rest purposes, and it is clear that Steph isn’t dealing with a serious issue.

After the game, four-time NBA champion coach Steve Kerr spoke out on Curry’s absence as the veteran shot-caller erased any doubt surrounding Steph’s status moving forward:

“He’s just wiped out right now,” Kerr said, via Jim Owczarski of the Milwaukee Journal Sentinel. “He’s been basically healthy all year and we’ve been relying on him heavily, a lot of games, he’s worn out. He needs the night off.”

The Warriors have had a tough schedule of late, and they have been relying heavily on Curry to carry them through. He just couldn’t do so on Saturday against the Bucks, though, with the Dubs playing on a second night of a back-to-back set.

Curry should be back in action in Golden State’s next game, which is a matchup against the Memphis Grizzlies at the FedEx Forum on Monday night. The greatest shooter of all time should be back to his usual antics as he looks to help the Warriors improve on their 18-21 record.
