WWE reveals never-seen-before Championship rumored to be held by CM Punk.
Joining WWE in 2005, Punk quickly became a part of the ECW roster by 2006. A successful brief stint there saw him winning the ECW Championship in 2007. A run that lasted till January 22, 2008, where he lost the gold to Chavo Guerrero.
A recently uploaded episode on the WWE Vault YouTube Channel unveiled a never-seen-before ECW Championship. For the first time, the promotion’s ‘Vault’ YouTube Channel showed the title belt, a never-before-seen championship rumored to have been in use during Punk’s 2007-08 championship reign.
However, not in use then, another new championship design was put to use in July 2008.
After a brief run in ECW, Punk moved onto the main roster and became one of the top performers there. With multiple World Championship wins, The Second City Saint is arguably one of the biggest attractions in the promotion.
Huge WWE WrestleMania 41 Plans Reportedly Set For CM Punk
Punk’s segments with Roman Reigns at Survivor Series 2024 turned out to be some of the most viewed WWE moments of all time on social media. With both Punk and Reigns being two of the top draws on the roster, the promotion has reportedly set some big plans for CM Punk at ‘Mania 41.
Speaking about Punk on the Backstage Pass podcast, Wrestlevotes stated that Punk looks set for a World Championship match at Mania.
I’ve heard so many things on Punk, especially as of late with the Roman [Reigns] stuff being thrown in there. But the one main factor that I’ve heard almost all year is they want him [Punk] to be involved in a World Title match. I don’t know how the puzzle pieces are going to fit, but they want him at the top. I don’t think it’ll be with Cody [Rhodes], so that’s one title match out the window. Does he fit into the other one? I’m going to say yes at this point.”
