After a messy divorce from rapper Kanye West and a highly-publicized relationship with SNL alum Pete Davidson, Kim is taking it slow and working on herself
Reality star Kim Kardashian is being extra picky as she dives back into the dating pool.
A source who spoke with Life & Style revealed that the 44-year-old mother of four “absolutely wants to be in a relationship again someday,” adding that “she just doesn’t feel in a big rush.”
After a messy divorce from rapper Kanye West and a highly-publicized relationship with SNL alum Pete Davidson, Kim is taking it slow and working on herself before she commits to a new relationship. Whoever she dates next, according to the source, must “check all the boxes and add to her life.”
The SKIMS founder has spent the last few months focusing on raising her kids and getting to know herself. Taking a break from dating has made her feel “very empowered so it’s a lot easier for her to be more discerning, versus before, when she felt like her happiness was contingent on being in a relationship. It’s made dating a lot more fun because there’s no pressure.”

Kim has been married three times, and was involved in long-term relationships with R&B singer Ray-J and NFL star Reggie Bush. “This is the longest she’s ever been single in her adult life,” the source said, adding: “it’s been a great learning experience for her because she’s had the chance to get to know herself and really zero in on what makes her happy.”
She was recently linked to NFL player Odell Beckham Jr., but has not been in a serious relationship since her divorce from Kanye.
According to the insider, the Keeping Up With the Kardashians star has found that “being able to find happiness without a man has been so empowering,” allowing her to approach “dating with a very different attitude.”
She has been rumored to be dating a real estate investor who “isn’t in the public eye,” keeping things low key for now, especially due to her celebrity status. If someone wants to date Kim, they are going to “need to prove themselves over time before they get to the next level.”
The insider went on to say: “She’s dating, or as she likes to say, ‘interviewing’ possible candidates but she isn’t ready to debut anyone as her official boyfriend yet, that has to be earned.”
