KSI and Conor McGregor in serious talks over mega-money fight as UFC superstar ‘interested’ in boxing return

KSI’s camp is in serious talks with Conor McGregor over a huge mega-money showdown.

McGregor was recently heavily linked with a boxing fight against YouTuber-turned-boxer Logan Paul for a $250million purse, but the rumours have since been stifled.

Paul distanced himself from the showdown, which saw influencer-boxer KSI throw his name into the mix, insisting he would fight the UFC superstar in a huge crossover boxing fight.

McGregor acknowledged KSI’s offer, and ‘The Nightmare’ hoped to make talks official over an event which could drive huge commercial interest.

Mams Taylor, Misfits Boxing guru and KSI’s manager, has revealed that conversations over the potential mega-money clash are intensifying as time goes on.

He told talkSPORT.com in an exclusive interview: “There are talks taking place, and talks are leading to more talks.

“I know he’s interested for a fact. I think no fight makes more sense than this fight for Conor.

“He was truly unbelievable in the days where he fought Jose Aldo.

“He’s a tough guy, he’s a tough challenge for anyone and I think now with the back and forth, it makes sense.

“I think this will break records and be in the top five biggest selling pay-per-views of all-time.

“I think all sides are motivated by what it can do, they can both sell. There is an underlying respect and disdain there too.

“I think it will be a massive, massive fight and I can’t think of a fight that would be bigger for Conor in terms of numbers.”

McGregor hasn’t fought since 2021 when he broke his leg in a devastating trilogy defeat against Dustin Poirier.

The UFC superstar has fought once in the boxing ring which came in 2017 as he suffered defeat to Floyd Mayweather – the second highest selling commercial boxing event of all-time.

He has always harboured an ambition of returning to the squared circle, given his extensive background in the sport.

McGregor currently has two fights remaining on his deal with the UFC, which have yet to materialise after a collapsed comeback last year.

But Taylor has been given encouragement from McGregor himself that the fight can indeed happen.

He continued: “There are some complications and hurdles to overcome.

“But we are definitely going for it, and I also think it’s a stadium fight.”

On potential other options for KSI if the fight doesn’t materialise, he added: “KSI will fight three times this year.

“Fight 1 will be a great surprise and very interesting. Fight 2 and 3, if people are worried we will take the same route as Jake…

“He will not be fighting retired MMA fighters, these will be serious opponents.

“It will be epic and I can’t wait to announce it all, but for now focus will be on fight one and his huge comeback.”

KSI’s return is unlikely to be against McGregor, but it could form a part of a monstrous year for ‘The Nightmare’.

There are a whole number of options on the table if McGregor becomes unavailable, including Amir Khan.

A rematch with Tommy Fury also lingers, while KSI will always have a burning desire to finally do battle with bitter rival Jake Paul.
