Gunther accepts Jey Uso’s challenge for WWE Saturday Night’s Main Event

Gunther comes out to Monday Night RAW saying he was impressed with the debut of WWE RAW on Netflix, but he can’t say the same for the performance he saw in the ring. Everyone is preoccupied with personal issues, like who sits at the Head of the Table, when everyone should be fighting for the ultimate prize: the World Heavyweight Title that is in his possession. Jey Uso interrupts! Jey Uso overhears Gunther saying that he needs someone who cares about the title, and he’s here for that.

«Main Event» Jey Uso comments that he left Drew McIntyre behind him, and the family drama behind him, so now he can head into a World Title match. Gunther scoffs and asks if Jey is serious… YEET! Gunther admires Jey’s bravery, and it would be absurd to think he can be champion forever, but it’s more absurd to think Jey can beat him. The Austrian wants Jey to think carefully about his challenge, they’ve faced each other for the Intercontinental Championship twice in the past and lost. To Gunther, Jey is just a tag team wrestler, not on his level. «Main Event» is a nickname for Jey, while «Main Event» is Gunther’s place where he belongs. Saturday Night’s Main Event is fine by Gunther, but Jey Uso has the final say. Gunther retires.

Jey Uso stops Gunther before he disappears off the entrance ramp. Everything Gunther said is fact, it may be true. Jey is just a guy selling merchandise and still being labeled as a member of the Tag Team Division. So, on Saturday Night’s Main Event, Jey Uso will look to kick Gunther’s ass and earn his respect the hard way.
