The Chiefs quarterback was targeted
Patrick Mahomes was at his devastating best as the Kansas City Chiefs star inspired his team to beat the Buffalo Bills on Sunday night, and the opposition fans made their feelings about him crystal clear.
The 28-year-old threw two touchdowns for Travis Kelce to score, in addition to Isiah Pachecho‘s match-winning touchdown in the fourth quarter, to send the Chiefs through.

The visitors claimed a 27-24 victory over their much-fancied opponents despite Josh Allen’s best efforts, with the Bills quarterback proving to be as dangerous as many anticipated he would be with two rushing touchdowns.
But Mahomes‘ quality and composure shone through in the end and his playmaking efforts clearly rubbed up the Bills ‘Mafia’ – the name given to the most dedicated Bill fans – the wrong way.
With a huge amount of snow falling in the region in the past few weeks, there was plenty of residual powder in and around the stadium. And with Mahomes seen running towards their end of the field, frustrated Bills supporters decided to launch snowballs at him.

Fortunately, none of them appeared to strike the Chiefs man as he jogged off the field and celebrated with his team-mates. But it goes to show the impact he had in a morale-boosting win for his team.
Mahomes puts in a statement performance
It hasn’t been the best of seasons for Mahomes, but he is starting to ramp up in the postseason as the Chiefs look to defend their Super Bowl crown.
While he only threw 23 passes on the night, he still managed to clock 215 yards and set up Kelce for two crucial touchdowns. He is also yet to throw an interception in the playoffs, having totalled 14 in the regular season.
Andy Reid‘s side are now on a four-game winning streak and Mahomes said the excruciating detail in their preparation was key.

“Guys took it as a challenge,” Mahomes said. “We just came in with the same mindset, that we’re going to come together, put our best foot forward and see if we can come out with a win.
“And that takes the mentality throughout the week, it takes every single play executing, and we did a great job of that today and [we] were able to score enough to win.”
