Any expectations for a fourth film in the Back to the Future franchise are completely dashed by the co-writer of the series. The world was first introduced to Marty McFly and his time-traveling adventure in the ’80s time-traveling classic in 1985. Two enduring sequels, Back to the Future Part II (1989) and Back to the Future Part III (1990), were born out of the immediate success of Back to the Future. Lea Thompson and Crispin Glover are part of the supporting ensemble, which is headlined by Michael J. Fox and Christopher Lloyd.
Speaking at a press conference during the Saturn Awards (via Entertainment Weekly), former Back to the Future writer Bob Gale addressed the chances of a fourth movie being made. The exasperated screenwriter noted that people keep asking him whether he and the team will make another movie in the franchise. In response, Gale offered a curt but to the point “F— you.”
