Conor McGregor headbutts Jake Gyllenhaal in Road House trailer as UFC star makes money claim in now-deleted tweet

Conor McGregor has quite literally dived headfirst into his first acting role. headbutting in the trailer for Road House.

The UFC superstar landed the role of Jake Gyllenhaal’s nemesis in the remake of the 1989 smash hit which starred Patrick Swayze.

And in the recently released trailer, McGregor’s character ‘Knox’ is seen landing a headbutt on the nose of Elwood Dalton, played by Hollywood star Gyllenhaal.

Proud of his performance in his acting debut, McGregor took to X, where he posted: “Fighting, acting, there’s nothing this Mac can’t do!

“Here’s the trailer featuring my brother, Jake Gyllenhaal, and me going toe-to-toe in the wildest action movie ever – Road House!

“My acting debut is gonna leave a mark! Long live Knox!”

And in a post that has since been deleted, McGregor hinted he has broken a Hollywood record that has stood for 23 years.

The Dublin native declared he was paid more than Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson when he earned a reported £4.3million for his acting debut in ‘The Mummy Returns’ in 2001.

He wrote on social media: “What did you think of my acting debut movie trailer? Hell of a ride!

“I am now officially the highest paid first time actor of all time, on record, pipping Dwayne Johnson for the top spot. Incredible! Was I worth it?”

But one thing is for certain, he certainly has made one hell of impression on the big screen.

Now though, his attention will turn to his MMA return having not fight since July 2021 after breaking his leg in his trilogy defeat against Dustin Poirier.

McGregor swiftly deleted his post after making the bold statement.

In his other highly-paid job, he is expected to face Michael Chandler, but it remains to be seen when McGregor will step back inside the octagon.

He has not fought since 2021 when he was beaten by Dustin Poirier at UFC 264, his second successive defeat to his rival.
