Mail Sport’s Jonathan McEvoy understands the seven-time world champion has in fact secured a seat at the Scuderia, even for as early as the 2025 season.

He is currently on £50m-a-year at Mercedes, where he has won six of his seven world championships and previously expressed his desire to remain for the rest of his time in the sport.
