Israel Adesanya has taken to social media to drop a major hint regarding his potential involvement at UFC 300.
While a number of fights featuring the likes of Max Holloway, Justin Gaethje and Charles Oliveira have been added to the landmark event, UFC 300 is still without a headline bout.
Conor McGregor‘s long-awaited return to competition has been rumoured for the card, but UFC president Dana White appeared to downplay such talks, with a June date during International Fight Week having been touted by the Irishman himself.
A potential clash rematch between Leon Edwards and Belal Muhammad has also been slated for the event, as speculation continues to intensify surrounding a clash to close the show at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas.
In a post on his Instagram story, Adesanya seemingly threw his hat in the ring for a spot in the main event, sharing an image of a Spartan with the number 300 and the caption ‘The gods must be crazy’.

The former middleweight champion shared a story referencing the landmark event in April
Should Adesanya return at the event, the former middleweight champion would likely take on the division’s current king Dricus Du Plessis.
After Du Plessis defeated Robert Whittaker in July, Adesanya squared off with the South African inside the Octagon before the pair engaged in a racially-charged exchange regarding their respective African lineages.
The fight was expected to take place in Sydney at UFC 293 before an injury saw Sean Strickland take Du Plessis place in the main event.
Strickland shocked the world at the Qudos Bank Arena, dropping and dominated Adesanya en route to a unanimous decision victory.
Last month the polarising American suffered defeat to Du Plessis in his first title defence, reopening the possibility of a grudge match between Du Plessis and Adesanya for the gold at 185lbs.

Speaking following his victory over Strickland, Du Plessis set his sights on a showdown with The Last Stylebender at UFC 300.
‘I’m up for another round if they want to go. Yeah, I don’t want to put a timeline on it, but UFC 300 sounds amazing.’
‘I want to fight the best competition. There’s a lot of guys I’m going to be fighting, but the fans want to see Israel Adesanya vs. Dricus du Plessis. There’s a lot of hype that was already built on it.
