Russell Wilson was straightforward and honest with Shedeur Sanders, who may need to reconsider his approach.

As the draft day approaches, it is becoming clear that the Tennessee Titans will select the quarterback from the University of Miami, Cam Ward, with the first pick. Little by little, Shedeur Sanders’ stock has been falling, and this may have upset those around the player, including his father, Deion.

The Cleveland Browns, who hold the second pick, are expected to choose the spectacular defensive player from Penn State, Abdul Carter, while the New York Giants, where Shedeur could go, signed Russell Wilson as their new quarterback, so Sanders’ future is uncertain.

There are rumors that Shedeur could fall to the sixth pick with the Las Vegas Raiders, but there he would be a backup to Geno Smith for the moment. He might also be an option at the ninth pick with the New Orleans Saints. Either way, Sanders could create an impressive story on Draft day, for better or worse.

The experienced player was introduced in a video conference, where Wilson stated that he expects to be the starting quarterback for the New York Giants and is confident in becoming the team’s leader. He affirmed that the Giants are looking for a leader in every sense.

“I hope to come in and be the starter, earning it every day with my mindset and focus,” Wilson added. “I think when you play this position, my daily goal is to step onto the field, help our team strategize, and ultimately be the best in the world-one of the best. And I believe that’s my mindset, to understand that.”

Russell Wilson’s contract could be worth up to $21 million, $10.5 million of which is guaranteed. Additionally, the team coached by Brian Daboll also signed veteran Jameis Winston, and to top it off, Tommy DeVito was re-signed, so the team may no longer focus on the quarterback position in the draft.

However, several team insiders believe they could still go for a quarterback, which would certainly be a surprise, with the possibility of selecting Heisman Trophy winner, Travis Hunter.

What is certain is that Sanders’ saga will continue. His father, Deion Sanders, has mentioned in several interviews that his son wants to be a starter immediately, but the reality is that the chances for that to happen are slowly closing.
