Conor McGregor sent blockbuster Manny Pacquiao offer as boxing legend comes out of retirement

Manny Pacquiao’s agent has confirmed the boxing icon is out of retirement and looking to fight Conor McGregor in Saudi Arabia.

The 45-year-old officially retired from boxing back in 2021 after losing in a unanimous decision to Yordenis Ugas.

He had served as a Senator in the Philippines between 2016 and 2022 and has since fought exhibition fights.

Pacquiao recently fought influencer DK You at the end of 2022 and there have been repeated talks of a potential bout with Floyd Mayweather.

But the ‘Pac-Man’ reportedly has his eyes set on a blockbuster crossover fight with UFC legend McGregor.

His agent, Sean Gibbons, has named a few high-profile boxers Pacquiao would love to go up against.

However, it’s a contest against McGregor in Saudi Arabia that Gibbons wants to see lined up next.

“Technically he’s out of retirement,” Gibbons told BoxingScene.

“He would love to fight Gervonta Davis, Ryan Garcia. He’s got about a year left.

“He just wants to fight. Manny feels that he’s in tremendous shape.

“He’s training for this exhibition but hopefully that will lead to something bigger and better.

“I do [see a pro return for Pacquiao]. One of the fights that people talked about for a long time was Manny Pacquiao versus Conor McGregor.

“That’s something that will be sensational in Saudi Arabia, let’s go. It will be a good place to do it. It’s really simple.

“His Excellency Turki Alalshikh loves big events, and he’s putting on the best events.

“It’s a very intriguing and fun fight bringing two of the biggest names together in combat sports.”

McGregor has not fought since July 2021 when he broke his leg in defeat to Dustin Poirier.

However, he’s now signed up to fight former three-time Bellator lightweight champion Michael Chandler later this summer.

McGregor announced the news at the end of last year, insisting the fight would take place at middleweight.

Neither McGregor or Chandler have fought at that weight in the past, but the UFC are yet to officially confirm the bout.

The two fighters appeared as coaches in last year’s series of “The Ultimate Fighter” and were expected to go up against each other at the end of 2023.

But McGregor’s return was delayed due to his absence from USADA’s drug-testing pool.
