Bob Myers was the general manager of the Golden State Warriors for 12 years. During that time, he helped the team win four NBA championships and also won NBA Executive of the Year twice. That’s not all; the ex-manager has also signed some of the most important players on the Warriors team.

After stepping down as the general manager last year, Bob Myers joined ESPN’s NBA Countdown as an analyst.

On Saturday, Myers was present at the pregame broadcast of the Lakers vs. Warriors game alongside Stephen A. Smith, Malika Andrews, and Michael Wilbon. Myers, during the broadcast, expressed his desire to witness Stephen Curry and LeBron James play together.

The ex-Warriors GM’s statement even surprised Andrews.

The Warriors tried to recruit LeBron James to the team

A month ago, the NBA world was shaken by unexpected news. The Golden State Warriors attempted to make a deal with the Los Angeles Lakers and recruit LeBron James to the team. Notably, the possibility of the two biggest stars in the NBA uniting elicited a plethora of reactions from fans.

According to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski, before the trade deadline, the Warriors called the Lakers to inquire regarding the trade.

As expected, both the Lakers and James were not interested in the deal. Warriors’ Draymond Green encouraged owner Joe Lacob to talk to James about the trade. As James and Green shared the agent, Green texted Rich Paul to try and convince the player.

In 2022, the NBA’s all-time leading scorer signed a two-year contract extension with the Lakers to stay through the 2024–25 season.

Agent Paul told ESPN that the player would not be traded to the Lakers. Therefore, the chances of James and Curry playing together as teammates seem rather low at this point.
