The high numbers of fans pleading for new music from the star comes after she confirmed in December 2018 to a fan on Instagram that she would release an album in 2019.
Rihanna has not released any solo material since her double platinum eighth album in 2016, Anti.
In March 2019, her best friend Jennifer Rosales teased that the album was completely finished and ready to go.
