PSG splashed 200 million euros to sign Vinicius to replace Mbappe to Real Madrid

Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) is reportedly ready to make a staggering offer of 200 million euros to secure Vinicius Jr. as a replacement for Kylian Mbappe, who is on his way to Real Madrid.

According to El Debate, the French powerhouse is willing to pay this enormous sum to persuade Real Madrid to part with their highly-rated Brazilian winger.

After a tense pre-season, PSG’s leadership has reportedly given up on Mbappe several months ago, following his announcement to President Al-Khelaifi about his intention to leave Paris at the end of the season.

To facilitate this amicable agreement, Mbappe has agreed to forgo a large bonus, rumored to be close to 100 million euros, to ensure that PSG does not lose him for free.

Questions arise about how Real Madrid will play if Mbappe’s preferred left-wing position, which is also Vinicius Jr.’s stronghold, leads to a clash between the two stars. Will Vinicius have to ‘yield’ to Mbappe, or at worst, consider leaving?

However, sources indicate that Real Madrid has no intention of losing Vinicius. Club President Florentino Perez and Coach Ancelotti consider him a key player in the team, integral to their future plans.

Real Madrid successfully renewed Vinicius’s contract last November, with a release clause of 1 billion euros. They are not willing to sell him for less than this amount, affirming their desire to keep their new number 7.

Besides PSG, Liverpool and Chelsea are also said to be closely monitoring Vinicius’s situation at Real Madrid, ready to make a move if the opportunity arises.

Vinicius has scored 18 goals and provided 8 assists in 28 appearances for Real Madrid this season, with only Jude Bellingham contributing more goals than him.
