Nearing the end of the week, rapper J Cole responded to a dis from Kendrick Lamar with his surprise album called ‘Might Delete Later‘. The reactions to this have been overwhelming with many taking Cole’s side, this includes none other than Kansas City Chiefs’ QB Patrick Mahomes. He didn’t need much to let his preference be known, all he did was post a tweet with a few emojis in it and that’s all. People who follow the quarterback were divided over Mahomes’ pick from this battle. While many agree with what he said, there are those who are completely against the decision and let Mahomes know through the comments of his post.

In many ways, the current verse battle between two of the greatest lyricists in rap can be considered a battle that is defining the genre. J Cole started all of this with a call for unity but Kendrick Lamar never intended to have anybody sit at the high table beside him. We can 100% expect Lamar to respond to the latest dis from J Cole. But while we wait, Patrick Mahoems picked his horse in this race and effectively got the entire Kendrick Lamar fan base against him. As we discussed, the reaction from Mahomes was only a word with a few emojis and that was more than enough.

Ractions from fans to Mahomes’ tweet were quick, many don’t agree with him choosing J Cole as the best from this particular battle. The lyrics he used to go after Kendrick’s recent material was harsh considering Lamar has been widely seen as the most talented rapper of the era. Giants like him only need one shot to get back at anybody who dares challenge him. In a sense, J Cole is asking for the most ruthless side of Kendrick Lamar to come out. Patrick Mahomes clearly doesn’t understand this and the consequences will be impossible to ignore. How do you think this battle will end up?
