Social media critics disappointed with Margot’s Oscars look.

Margot Robbie‘s stylist has been slammed for dressing the Australian star in an ‘unflattering’ outfit at the 2024 Oscars.

The Australian actress, 33, raised eyebrows by ditching her trademark Barbie pink in favour of a shimmery back Versace gown with a sloped neckline and unusual draping at the hips.

For accessories, Margot wore a two-toned gold cuff and matching ring by Fred Leighton.

Critics have rushed to social media to express their disappointment with Margot’s look, branding her outfit as underwhelming and uncomplimentary to her curvy physique.

‘She should have owned the carpet. This is… not even renting,’ one user lamented, as another added: ‘Such a boring look. Come on.’

‘The most epic and stylish fashion streak of all time ended with this absolutely boring yawn of a dress,’ another commented, referring to Margot’s much-celebrated red carpet publicity tour for Barbie.’

‘So disappointed! I was expecting EPIC,’ they added.

Others took aim at Margot’s hair, which was left out and styled with a slight bed-head texture.

Despite Barbie’s impressive eight nominations, Robbie was not nominated for Best Actress, while Greta Gerwig was not nominated for Best Director.

America Ferrera was nominated for Best Supporting Actress for her role in the film, with pundits saying her character’s impassioned speech on feminism sealed the deal.

She lost out to Da’Vine Joy Randolph for her role in The Holdovers.
