Zedd’s Modern Encino Mansion Sold to Meghan Trainor for $17.1 Million

Anton Zaslavski—better known to millions of electronic music fans as Zedd—has officially offloaded his contemporary residence in the upscale Los Angeles enclave of Encino for just over $17.1 million, or roughly $2 million more than the DJ paid for the palatial mansion in the posh San Fernando Valley enclave less than three years ago.

Records confirm the buyer is Grammy-winning singer/songwriter Meghan Trainor, known for smash pop music hits like Lips Are Moving and All About That Bass. After hitting the market in January with a nearly $19 million ask, the house sold to Trainor at a substantial discount. The Russian-German DJ/record producer acquired the two-story home from former A-list couple Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner for $15.2 million a little over two years ago, back in September 2021.

Situated outside of gates on nearly an acre of land dotted with mature oaks, the 2019-built white brick and wood-accented building has six bedrooms and twelve bathrooms spread across approximately 15,000 square feet of Jae Omar-designed living space with glass walls creating a seamless indoor/outdoor environment. Glitzy extras include a number of unique features that Zedd personally created, like a recording studio, a vocal booth, and a “personal wellness retreat” with a gym, a sauna, and a massage area.

Other highlights include an office area and a formal living room, as well as a double-height entrance gallery with a floating staircase and a starburst chandelier atop it. An elegant eat-in kitchen with a walk-in pantry, eat-in island, and a formal dining room highlighted by a glass-encased wine display is next to a family room near the fireplace. A secondary prep kitchen leads to the formal dining area.

The creature pleasures continue upstairs, with a lavish main bedroom that takes up the whole level and features a big wraparound terrace, a floor to ceiling fireplace, two walk-in closets, and an opulent bathroom with a soaking tub, dual vanities, and a large shower. This floor also has five more guest bedrooms, each with a walk-in closet and a private bathroom.

In terms of the lovely surroundings, they have an enormous roof deck, an outdoor kitchen, a fire pit, a lap pool, and a spa. In addition, there is a two-story guesthouse with a modern Dolby Atmos movie theater, a real British-style pub, and a two-bay garage in front that can accommodate four cars.

Trainor has ventured into Encino before. In 2020, she and her spouse, the Spy Kids actor Daryl Sabara, purchased rapper TMG Fresh $6.6 million for a property in the neighborhood that was somewhat larger but just as luxurious. The pair most recently spent $3.1 million for a brand-new, contemporary farmhouse-style property nearby. Zedd, a famous DJ, recently upgraded to a nearby even larger home after spending $18.4 million late last year for the opulent “Odin,” an Encino estate with a Nordic theme.

Trainor was represented by Justin Paul Huchel of Carolwood Estates; the listing was held by Hilton & Hyland/Forbes Global Properties’ David Kramer and Andrew Buss.
