Sean Strickland risks wrath of Conor McGregor as he rips fight promotion UFC superstar owns

Sean Strickland may have upset Conor McGregor with his comments about Bare Knuckle Fighting Championship.

‘Notorious’ recently announced he was a proud part-owner of the fledgling bare-knuckle boxing company and has been promoting it on social media ever since.

Strickland never hesitates to share his opinion

However, Strickland isn’t a fan of BKFC and he made that very clear during an unprovoked rant ahead of his latest fight against Paulo Costa at UFC 302 on Saturday night.

The former middleweight champion was talking about his new UFC contract when he pivoted to state he never wants to be “’one of those assh***s that goes and fights bare-knuckle.’

“Bare knuckle, you want to talk about f***ing crooks,” Strickland said during the UFC 302 media day on Wednesday.

“They’re paying their guy’s s***. Like [BKFC] is one of those organisations where you hear these numbers, it’s all bulls***.

“If you look at the lowest rung of the guys, they’re breaking their hands, breaking their orbitals, and they’re making a couple thousand bucks. Bare knuckle’s f***ing trash.”

In April, the salaries from BKFC KnuckleMania 4 were released by the California State Athletic Commission after the event took place in Los Angeles.

Former MMA fighter Mike Perry took him $600,000 for his win over Thiago Alves, which is much more than he was earning during his days in the UFC.

The lowest-paid fighter on the card was Crystal Pittman and she banked just $500 for victory over Sydney Smith, who branded herself ‘Frankenstein face’ after suffering horrific injuries during her 48-second KO loss.

McGregor’s deep in camp for his comeback fight at UFC 303 on June 29.

The Irishman hasn’t responded to Strickland’s comments about his fight promotion, but he is sure to have something to say over the weekend.

Perry reacted to Strickland’s rant by placing a $50,000 bet on Costa to beat him, with ‘platinum’ set to earn $140,000 if the Brazilian upsets the odds.

“Paulo Costa said he’s coming to put a beating onto Sean Strickland this weekend,” Perry said in a video attached to the bet.

“I’m rocking with that Brazilian power. ‘Borrachinha’ in the building!

“I think he has more tools in MMA to get the job done.
