Alum David Spade of “SNL” Purchases a $9.5 million Newport Beach New Home

David Spade has splashed out $9.5 million on a spec home in the Corona Del Mar neighborhood of Newport Beach, California, according to property records.

The 59-year-old actor and comedian purchased the property in mid-December through a trust he has used to purchase past properties, including a Beverly Hills home he owned for more than 20 years, records from PropertyShark show.

Located in the exclusive neighborhood of Cameo Highlands, the single-level contemporary abode has “unending Pacific and Catalina sunset views,” the listing said.

The residence is a tribute to California living, offering ocean views, an open floor plan, loads of windows and an indoor-outdoor lifestyle, according to the listing with Brenda McCroskey of Compass. She declined to comment. Stuart Vetterick of Hilton & Hyland represented Spade.

Designed by architect Mark Teale, the home is being built by Nicholson Companies. Spade will be able to work with the firm to customize the property, according to the listing. Representatives for the “Saturday Night Live” alumnus and star of movies including “Tommy Boy” and “Joe Dirt” did not immediately return a request for comment.

Featuring a neutral color palette, the main living area has sitting and dining areas and opens to a covered patio overlooking the water, the listing said. It also encompasses the kitchen, with its quartz waterfall island, walk-in pantry and Miele and SubZero appliances. Other amenities include an office and a media room.

There are four bedrooms, with a primary suite that also boasts access to the covered patio, ocean views, a fireplace, a walk-in closet and a spa-like bathroom, the listing said.

Outside, there’s a pool and spa, plus lounging areas. The home is equipped with a solar-panel system.

In addition, the home offers access to four private beaches, including Crystal Cove State Beach and Arch Rock Beach, as well as hiking trails and world-class golf at Pelican Hill, the listing said. It’s a few minutes to Laguna Beach or to Newport Beach.

Robb Report first reported the deal.
