Inside the Montecito Villa Where Harry and Meghan Filmed Their Documentary

This lavish Mediterranean-style estate in the heart of Montecito is where Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, the Duke and Duchess of Sus𝑠e𝑥, filmed last year’s Netflix documentary “Harry & Meghan.”

The 2-acre estate, which is just a few minutes from the couple’s own Montecito home, offers lushly planted and very private grounds and unobstructed mountain and ocean views. The home’s TV appearance highlights a sun-drenched living room, from which the royal couple spoke in the documentary—the dining room chandelier subtly glittering over Meghan’s shoulder.

The show offers only a peek inside a massive home spanning more than 13,000 square feet on the inside alone.“Flexible spaces both inside and out make this an intimate home for two yet can easily accommodate crowds of over 200,” according to the listing with Ryan Malmsten, of Santa Barbara Brokers and Riskin Partners Estate Group, who declined to comment further.

The two-acre Lilac Drive estate offers lushly planted and very private grounds and unobstructed mountain and ocean views.

The 2006 house was designed by the architects J.F. Brennan and Don Nulty and built by Jay Hanseth, with interior designs by Natasha Baradaran.

“Living off the grid has never been more chic,” according to the listing, with sustainable features that include four chicken coops, a beehive, a gray-water irrigation system, a private well, an organic vegetable garden, 35 fruit trees and a solar system that powers the lights, appliances, and laundry.

The family room has multiple sets of French doors that open to outdoor terraces.

Architectural and design details inside the home include double-height arched windows, coffered ceilings, French doors, tile roofing, a central vacuum, mahogany doors and windows, and a mix of white oak, travertine and marble flooring.

The remodeled eat-in kitchen offers a butler’s pantry, travertine and Carrara marble countertops, and new appliances by Miele, Bertazzoni and Viking. There is also a breakfast room bar and a formal dining room along with large family and living rooms on the main level.

The office features a soundproof wall, hidden storage and a secret door to the primary bedroom.

The ground-floor primary bedroom suite has access to its own terrace and a bathroom with a glass standing shower and a stone bathtub. An adjacent office has a soundproof wall, hidden storage and a secret door to the bedroom.

The plush home theater has a 4K projector and blackout shades.
