Eric Schmidt, the former CEO of Google, is asking $24.5 million for his Silicon Valley estate.

Eric Schmidt has been the talk of many communities for the past few years due to his constantly expanding real estate holdings. To name a few, he has spent hundreds of millions purchasing opulent mansions in Miami, Beverly Hills, New York City, and Washington, D.C. However, he has now made the decision to sell at least one of his numerous residences, having listed his long-term Northern California property for sale.

The asking price for the property is $24.5 million, which is around 12 times more than what the former chairman and CEO of Google, along with his spouse Wendy, paid for it in 1990, a little over three decades ago. Compass owner Katharine Carroll is the owner of the listing.

The 3.3-acre property in the affluent Silicon Valley enclave of Atherton was completed in the late 1960s but underwent extensive remodeling during Schmidt’s tenure. It consists of a newer guesthouse designed by Schwanke Architecture and a main European-inspired mansion, totaling five bedrooms and eight bathrooms in a little over 5,200 square feet.

Two gated drives in front of the house lead to three separate motorcourts, one of which is next to a detached three-car garage with a lower-level play area. Entering through an entry foyer with hardwood floors laid in a herringbone pattern and a curved iron staircase, one side leads to a formal dining room, living room with a fireplace and doors leading to a terrace, and kitchen with a Thermador range, custom marble countertops, Waterworks fixtures, and double sinks and dishwashers. A bay window-lined breakfast nook that goes with it opens to a patio with a water feature.

On the other side of the foyer, a skylit hallway leads to a sunroom, a handsome wood-paneled office/study with a full bath, and a sitting room with a fireplace. Upstairs, an inviting primary bedroom has access to a large private terrace, a dressing room, and an opulent bathroom highlighted by a marble shower and soaking tub.

The gorgeous grounds, dotted with mature plants and specimen trees, are particularly noteworthy. They have a swimming pool and Jacuzzi, as well as many areas perfect for entertaining and relaxing outside. Completing the picture is a separate structure housing the security crew and a lovely Amdega Conservatory that was brought over from the UK and converted into a greenhouse.

In addition to the property in Atherton, Schmidt—whose estimated net worth is approximately $24 billion—is the owner of a $65 million piece of undeveloped land in the mountains above Beverly Hills, which was previously owned by the late tech tycoon Paul Allen. In addition, he owns $114 million worth of island properties in Miami Beach and a historic $15 million estate in the Georgetown neighborhood of Washington, D.C., where Jackie Kennedy formerly lived.
