Jadon Sancho Manchester United exit could benefit Liverpool as loan possibility emerges

Barcelona manager Hansi Flick is reportedly an admirer of Manchester United attacker Jadon Sancho.

According to reports in Spain, the La Liga giants are on the hunt for a new wide addition with the likes of Athletic Bilbao star Nico Williams and Liverpool attacker Luis Diaz said to be on the shortlist.

Sport has claimed that United have offered Sancho for a transfer after falling out with current manager Erik ten Hag but the Spanish side rejected the opportunity to pay €60million (£50m) for his services. The Englishman spent the second half of last season on loan at former club Borussia Dortmund and rediscovered the form that first earned his mega-money move to Old Trafford.

While Barcelona rejected the opportunity to splash out on the attacker, the outlet has added that they could be open to bringing him in on a temporary basis. Should Flick’s side pursue a move for Sancho, it could end their pursuit in Liverpool’s Colombian attacker.

Diaz remains the subject of intense speculation around a potential switch to La Liga heavyweights Barcelona. The rumour mill hasn’t stopped churning about whether Diaz will stay in the Premier League.

With only two years left on his contract with Liverpool, the La Liga outfit have become increasingly linked with a move and comments by Diaz’s father have added fire to the talk, particularly his acknowledgment of his son’s love for Barcelona. He said: “The truth is that I know very little about Barcelona at the moment.

“It is true that Luis is a loyal Barcelona fan and it would be his dream to go there. So far I would like to thank Porto and Liverpool for the way they welcomed him and received him.

“Luis is a player who finds it easy to win [fans] over because of the way he is, because of his humility, his work, his dedication. He is a very disciplined player, thank God. There would be no problem if Luis came to Barcelona because it is a top team and one of the best in the world.”
