With a sharp and stylish storyline set during a major historical event, an amazing cast of Hollywood heavyweights, hilarious comedy and a surprising twist, Fly Me To The Moon is the movie event we’ve all been waiting for.
The comedy drama sees Scarlett Johansson star as charismatic Kelly Jones, a Manhattanite marketing expert brought in to help revamp NASA’s public image ahead of the iconic Apollo 11 mission.
Jones is facing a difficult task on two fronts; not only is her role hugely challenging as she tries to shift America’s perception of the government’s space agency, but she’s also battling internal friction from a colleague too.
The comedy drama of the year: Scarlett Johansson and Channing Tatum star in Fly Me To The Moon, a sharp and stylish storyline set with NASA’s biggest project in the back ground
Channing Tatum takes on the role of Cole Davis, NASA’s launch director who is in charge of the moon landing project and who is, at times, Jones’ biggest adversary.
Johansson says her character will do ‘whatever is necessary’ to get her job done, even when faced with resistance from Davis.
‘Kelly is very much all about the ends justify the means, while for Cole, the means matters. And therein lies the conflict,’ Johansson has explained.
The vibrant film sees Johansson and Tatum bring palpable chemistry to the big screen and sparks fly as the pair navigate their own roles, while being forced to work with the other.
But it isn’t all tension, there is plenty of humour throughout and with impeccably timed comedic flare from Tatum and Johansson, the movie is a delightfully entertaining.

Shifting perceptions: Jones isn’t just tasked with changing America’s opinion, she also has to shift one of her own colleague’s mind too
‘Kelly comes in like a hurricane and, in his [Cole’s] mind, she wrecks everything and creates more problems than solutions—when really, she’s the linchpin to the whole thing,’ Tatum has said.
As a visual spectacle, the movie brings oodles of style and highlights 1960s glamour in a bold and beautiful way. The leading stars have never looked better, nor have they brought more charisma to the screen than in Fly Me To The Moon.
With a surprising twist that sees the White House direct Jones to orchestrate a ‘fake’ landing, this isn’t just a retelling of a moment in history played out amongst the backdrop of the space race with Russia, this is a fictional take on a moment, that will delight, surprise and entertain.

Speaking about the chemistry between Jones and Davis, Johansson said that despite their initial reservations and the obvious friction between the pair, they do eventually see each other in a different light.
‘They see in each other another person who is mysterious and intriguing and passionate, and at their core, a good person with similar values,’ the actress said.
‘They understand that they can accomplish something truly spectacular if they work together. So even though there may be a little contempt at times, you still see that they have a connection, and sparks fly.’
