Strange Things About Jennifer Lawrence and Cooke Maroney’s Relationship

After a speedy engagement, Jennifer Lawrence finally tied the knot with her art dealer beau, Cooke Maroney. According to People, the stars exchanged vows in front of 150 people, including A-listers and a possible ghost or two. The wedding took place on the coast of Rhode Island at the posh – and possibly haunted – Belcourt of Newport. Though it wasn’t quite the same weekend as Halloween, the couple had all the spooky vibes along with some food trucks and a rocking all – night party.

There’s not a whole lot we know about Lawrence’s relationship with Maroney. The pair has more or less kept its union hidden from the public eye, aside from occasionally being snapped by the paps at a dinner date or a stroll down a NYC street. In the months leading up to her nuptials, however, Lawrence has been willing to share a little bit more about her best friend-slash-husband. While it seems like a match made in heaven, it’s certainly not what we’d think of when we think of a Hollywood whirlwind wedding.

Before Cooke Maroney, Jennifer Lawrence was losing hope for love

It’s not easy dating as an A – lister. There’s a reason celebrity marriages tend to last all of 30 seconds, and Jennifer Lawrencewasn’t naive to the fact that finding your person is really, really hard – especially in the age of Tinder and especially when you were, at one point, the highest paid actress in Hollywood. That’s intimidating, and it’s not surprising that JLaw was starting to lose hope.

You won’t catch Jennifer Lawrence and Cooke Maroney online

Jennifer Lawrence is the veritable queen of interview TMI, but you won’t catch her sharing that kind of stuff online. Part of her hesitation comes from a traumatic nude photo leak that she experienced in 2014. The star told The Hollywood Reporter that it left her feeling like she had been violated “by the f***ing planet,” so it’s not really surprising that she avoids social media all together. Per an interview with BBC 1 (via E! News), Lawrence does not have a Twitter or Instagram account – at least not publicly. She has been known to secretly browse with a finsta, but there’s a slim chance of her ever going public with it.

“I really don’t want to welcome [online backlash] unless it’s absolutely necessary,” she told InStyle. “I don’t want to put myself out there for no reason. Unless I’m promoting something or something really burns my onions, you won’t hear from me.”

Cooke Maroney is equally as tight-lipped online, which is probably a huge relief for his ultra-famous wife, who seems to roll in circles with people who share similar views (her BFF Emma Stone also avoids social media, for example). As for Maroney, he has a private Instagram account, which is a major tease to fans who want to know what the heck his bride’s wedding dress actually looks like. Come on. Throw us a bone! At least sell a photo to People like the Real Housewives.
